Every conscious organism imagines "gods": voices/sights of other entities / characters (including himself/herself), that act as what the TheCodex™ calls "leaders": guideline-generators / meme-generators. It is up to the soul to arbitrate between them and decide what to do (and when/where/how/etc.).
Also see this essay about the etymology of the Hebrew word "elohim" (= "God", "many guideline-generators") and that of the Hebrew word "melekh" (= "a king", "from where should you go").
An "Elohim" may mean the gamemasters and players in an instance of the role-playing game of Greater Fantasia or one of its many derivatives. This is whereas a "jew" means a player character.
