History of Vim
- Vim started when Bram Mooleenaar had to work on an Amiga system and was used to Vi.
- He took a nearly-vi clone, started improving it and adding extra features.
- In 1992 he ported it to UNIX and by popular demand to other platforms as well.
- 1994 Aug 12 - Vim 3.0 - Support for multiple buffers and windows.

- 1998 Feb 19 - Vim 5.0 - Syntax Coloring/Highlighting
